The Summer Palace, Beijing : In Qianlong Year 20, the construction of the Clear Ripples Garden was completed. Qianlong Emperor was so joyful about it. He wrote a poem to show his happiness "By which part of Yen Mountains was the most attractive. No doubt Kunming had the most unparalleled view". In 1860, the Anglo-French Joint Expedition broke into Beijing the Clear Ripples Garden and other royal gardens were robbed and burned. 30 years later, to celebrate Empress Dowager Cixi's 60-year-old birthday, Guangxu Emperor announced in February 1, 1888, he renamed the Clear Ripples Garden to the Summer Palace. In Summer Palace,not only Han-style Buddhism architectures occupied a large ratio, Tibetan Buddhism's temple of the Yellow Lama also occupied an important position in the Summer Palace. Except Buddhism, Taoism's influence to royal gardens were also seen everywhere. The Suzhou Garden : The classical garden in China, except for royal garden there were gardens belonged to officials, wealthy businessmen, and literators, they were called private gardens. In the mid 18 century, Qing Qianlong Emperor went to Jiangnan six times to visit all famous mountains and gardens which boomed the heat for gardening in Jiangnan.
