Golfers come from all around the town of Velva to this week's featured course 'On the Green' The Star City Golf Course is not very old...but you certainly wouldn't know that after playing it. Perry Olson has more. (Perry Olson) In just its fifth year of play, Velva's Star City Golf Course has taken off in popularity. And for good reason. (Marlo Kittleson - Star City Golf Course) It is a very fogiving course with wide fairways and it can be played pretty fast. It does have a few challenging holes with water on like on one and three and six and nine. Nine is our signature hole. (Perry Olson) It is the signature hole because of the island green. It makes the par five a tricky finish to an enjoyable round on a course that even though young, is lush and impressive. (Marlo) The rain is just a Godsend. It enhances the course. You can irrigate all you want but an inch of rain will do ten times more. That has really helped us. (Perry Olson) New this year is the new clubhouse. Like the course, it too took off and has been extreamly popular. (Marlo) As we got going the people saw it happening and the money started coming with the help and, boom it was done the 15th of April.
