Dorgan talks about BSC's energy future
 Source: ClipSyndicate
The new energy billsigned by President Bush this weekgives millions to North Dakota's energy industry. Senator Byron Dorgan says the bill includes almost six-point-seven million dollars for Bismarck State College. The funding will cover construction for an energy technology and training facility. Dorgan says there is no one place in the state to get more information about what's going on with each area of the energy industry. That's why he says he put funding in the energy bill to create an energy corridor office. (Byron Dorgan, US Senator (D)) And we ought to have an office. A Great Plains Energy Corridor Office that's a repository of all of that information and plays a coordinating role with all of our energy interests in North Dakota and I'm proud to have appropriate 250,000 dollars for this year for that purpose. BSC President Larry Skogen says the funding helps the school become the national resource center for the energy industry. (Larry Skogen BSC President) This funding will enhance our ability to build and equip state of the art laboratories and continue to provide top notch education and training to our on-campus energy technology students. The bill also gives almost one-million-dollars towards enhanced curriculum for the energy technology program at BSC.
