This is the title track from their sixth studio album, 1980's Ghost Riders (really cool album cover, BTW!). Although Ghost Riders In The Sky was first made famous by Johnny Cash, the melody and lyrics were actually written by Stan Jones. Take a listen and see if the Outlaws have not made this song their own with their unique Southern power-rock cover. I'm always surprised by how much better known Lynyrd Skynyrd is, than the Outlaws. Let me tell you: there is no difference in quality; Skynyrd is awesome - and the Outlaws are every bit as good! Their triple-lead guitar attack was known as The Florida Guitar Army, led by one of the great rock guitarists ever, Hughie Thomasson. The Outlaws rock out as superbly as ever and you should be one to Bring It Back Alive if they will be playing near your town!! This is rock 'n' roll guitarmanship as good as it gets!
