Clinton trails in Texas
 Source: Mediascrape
Just days before Democratic primary contests in Ohio and Texas, a new Reuters/C-SPAN/Houston Chronicle poll indicates that Barack Obama holds a slight lead on Hillary Clinton in Texas and has almost pulled even in Ohio. Obama has a 6-point edge on Clinton in Texas, 48 percent to 42 percent. But he trails Clinton 44 percent to 42 percent in Ohio. Pollster John Zogby says Hispanic voters-- who account for one-third or more of the state's primary voters, could hold the key to a Clinton victory. SOUNDBITE: John Zogby, president of Zogby International, saying (English): "If Hispanic voters stick with Hillary - and it looks like they may - and if they turn out in significant numbers and if she can hold on to the other parts of her coalition, she stays competitive." Both states remain in play. Nine percent of Democratic voters in Ohio remain undecided. In Texas, 7 percent of Democrats were not yet sure, leaving plenty of room for late swings to either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. Among Republicans, John McCain holds substantial double-digit leads over Mike Huckabee in both Ohio and Texas. McCain could come close to clinching the Republican nomination with big wins in both states. Jon Decker, Reuters.
