Peyton's dress gets ruined and she breaks down
From episode 9 season 2. It's the formal/prom and Peyton is feeling very alone and sad. She is wearing her late mothers old prom dress, but it gets ruined when someone unfortunately knocks over a glass of wine. Peyton tries to get the stain off, but can't. The frustrations almost makes her do drugs.
