This covers the first part of Mission 16: Ambush from the PS2 version of The Great Escape. Here's the first part of the original walkthrough I wrote for this mission: Mission 16: AmbushCharacter: SedgwickInventory: ExplosivesObjective(s): Rendezvous with the ResistanceRun forward over to the chicken coup run around the left side of the barn and peek around the corner to make sure the Soldier that patrols this area doesn't see you. There's another Soldier guarding the resistance fighters, don't let him get suspicious of your presence (yellow cone on Compass) or it will make the next part nearly impossible. Hide behind the door and wait for the Soldier to pass you then Choke him.New Objective: Free the ResistanceSneak into the barn and climb the ladder sneak up behind the Soldier and choke him. Grab the Lugar and Lugar Ammo (1 box). Press "action" to talk to the resistance fighter. A cinematic will play explaining the next objective.New Objective: Recover the DetonatorEquip the Lugar and climb down the ladder. Shoot the Soldier then run over to the dead horse, talk to the resistance fighter again then run around the corner. Crawl over to the first rock along the right side of this area. When you get to it go First person and wait for the Soldier to come into your crosshairs, then shoot him in the head. (Note: You don't have much ammo so you'll have to pick your shots carefully.) Shoot the next three Soldiers that come at you. You should have at least five shots left in your gun. If you don't there's a Sten Mark 2 Machine Gun and Ammo for it next to the Detonator on the crate near the checkpoint. There's also a First Aid Kit.New Objective: Clear the North Side of Town of JerriesEquip the Machine Gun and run toward the town. In the town run to the left and into the small shack straight ahead. There's a First Aid Kit in here, take out the two Soldiers that follow you. Another two or three Soldiers will show up one at a time. Kill them all and exit the shack a Soldier comes out of the door ahead of you. Kill him and go into this building there's a First Aid Kit next to the dresser. Go into the dining room and grab the Machine Gun Ammo and First Aid Kit off the table.Save your gameRun back outside and shoot the three or four Soldiers in the distance. Go into the small building that the one Soldier came out of (the one without a door) and grab the Stick Grenade. Shoot the sniper and the Soldier on the ground. Grab the First Aid Kit behind the medical truck and shoot the sniper up the street. Run up the street a little and kill the Soldier on the ground. Run a little further up the street and kill the sniper in the building to the left. New Objective: Place the ExplosivesMake sure your Machine Gun's fully loaded then go into the building the first sniper occupied. You can't go upstairs, but there's a First Aid Kit on the floor. Run into the building the third sniper occupied, run through the next door. Grab the First Aid Kit off the dresser, run upstairs, and grab the two Stick Grenades off the bed. Run down (or you can jump down from where you're at but you'll take damage) to the building across the street from the one the second sniper occupied. (Note: There's nothing in the building the second sniper was in so don't waste your time.) In the building there's some Machine Gun Ammo and a First Aid Kit upstairs. Equip the Explosives and run to the bridge. A cinematic will play explaining the next objective. Press "action" to plant the Explosives.New Objective: Place the DetonatorEquip the Detonator at the other end of the bridge a 35 second timer will begin. Follow the female resistance fighter into the building and up the stairs at the top. In this room press "action" to plant the Detonator.New Objective: Intercept the ConvoySave your gameWhen the timer is three quarters of the way gone (10 seconds left) press "action" to blow the bridge. If you did it right it will say new objective added. If you did it wrong you'll have to reload your game.New Objective: Recover the DossierEquip the Machine Gun and kill the Soldier in the second floor of the barn then the one down on the street. (Try and kill the Machine Gunner in the distance.) Run back down stairs and outside. Run to the left then straight across the street to the bombed out ruins, then around the right side of the ruins and into the barn. Climb up into the loft and kill as many Soldiers from this position as you can.
