On September 15, 2008, Jack Semple, one of Canada's premiere guitarists, rocked the house at Project Porchlight Saskatchewan's campaign launch. The event took place in downtown Regina at the F.W. Hill Mall on Scarth Street and featured several special guests including: Stuart Hickox, Project Porchlight Executive Director; Mike Abou-Mechrek and Luca Congi, Saskatchewan Roughriders members; Bill Hutchinson, Saskatchewan Minister of Municipal Affairs; and Pat Youzwa, SaskPower President and CEO. Many lucky Saskatchewanians came out to enjoy the music in the sun and to get a free compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb. Project Porchlight Saskatchewan will be distributing over 200,000 free CFL bulbs door to door and at events across the province this fall.
