JUDGEMENT DAY is a short, seven-minute film written, directed, edited and actually starring the filmmaker, Bill Jacobs, as all four of the on-camera characters. The film was shot completely solo -- with no crew -- by Bill over the course of one night. Absolutely NO sets or props (except for the question cards in the hands of the "host" character) were used during the filming. Over the two weeks that followed, Bill designed all of the sets, clouds, moons and stars, digitally drawing them in Adobe Photoshop. All editing, compositing and animation production was done using Apple's Final Cut Pro. Since the camera never moved during shooting, all apparent "camera moves" in the film were created by Bill through compositing and animating as many as 12 layers of images. Bill made this film for the Shortie Challenge, a monthly film club in the Los Angeles area. The month he made JUDGEMENT DAY, the films for the club had to be a comedy, could be no longer than 7 minutes, and HAD to somewhere contain the following phrase: "I got it from Keith."
