Indo-rock had a very big impact on early 1960's Singapore Pop Music. ANNEKE GRONLOH - "Oh Malaysia" (1963). When the new Federation of Malaysia was formed in 1963 out of Malaya, Singapore, Sarawak and Sabah, it was records like this that were much more effective than the many governmental promotions to build up the new national spirit and pride in the new country among the young schoolchildren.
