Going on scattered leads and little sleep, law enforcement officials from roughly ten agenciesincluding the FBI, Border Patrol, and K-9 Units from the Minot PDcontinued their hunt for Jeremy Brooks. (Marv Sola, McHenry Co. Sheriff) Am I 100% sure he's here? No. I'm not. But at the same time, I have no reason to believe he's left. Officers concentrated their efforts in two areas this Wednesdayhere, where McHenry County Sheriff Marv Sola says Coty Martinez told him she and Brooks camped for two days. And here... the Weninger farm, about five and a half miles Northeast of Drake, where a barn burned to the ground early this morning. (Sola) Is there any connection? Some think so, some don't. Volunteers with the Drake Rural Fire Department sifted through the ash, looking for what my have caused the blazewhile searchers circled overhead, searching for Brookswhom firefighter Allen Kuntz believes he may have met Tuesday afternoon. (Allen Kuntz, Drake) It was about 2:00 in the afternoon. My wife came home to pick up our kids, and she said there was a man walking across the end of our field. Kuntz spoke with McHenry County officials Tuesday evening, and offered his description. Now, those officials are going on tips provided by area residents who may have been simply trying to help a man in need. We'll stay here till we get this squared away And Sheriff Sola says that means they'll continue checking every ditch, every field, and every car...until they locate Jeremy Brooks. Near Drake, Abby Wuellner, KX News. Sheriff Sola says the search is now door-to-door in Drake and the area. And he says residents in the area should make sure their doors are locked. Meanwhile, the woman officials say was Brooks's accomplice, Coty Martinez, is in custody at a Rugby jail after being picked up near Drake yesterday. She's expected to be extradited to Minnesota to face a murder charge.
