Teller Charged In Souris Bank Robbery
 Source: ClipSyndicate
Authorities have made an arrest in the robbery of a Souris bank that took place in late March but just who that person is is surprising many. FBI officials say 45-year-old Tamara Lynn McDonald, seen here in this photo on the State Bank of Bottineau - Souris Branch's website and the teller who claimed to have been assaulted by an unknown person actually staged the robbery herself. She has been charged with embezzling. An affidavit filed today details that McDonald has been stealing money since December of 2007 to help pay off her debt of around $80,000. The brank president estimated $18,000 was unnaccounted for from the bank. McDonald admitted to staging the robbery saying she knew that a bank employee was on her way to complete an audit in the vault which would show the missing money. A photocopy repairman arrived unannounced that day and McDonald says she saw him as a possible suspect for the robbery. Shortly after the repairman left McDonald says used a large rock that she keeps as a paperweight to strike herself in the face and the back of the head. She then forced herself to vomit and laid down on the floor waiting to be discovered. McDonald stated she spent approximately $6,000 of stolen money and then turned over $11,700 in U.S. currency and $670 in Canadian currency to law enforcement. McDonald was released on a personal recognizance bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, April 30th.
