New York City has a life of music and rhythm under his streets, a life lived by musicians whose voices and instruments filter into commuter's ears and mingle with the clanking and grinding screech of trains. These musicians are daily reminders to New Yorkers of beauty, determination, true grit and courage, and of the great music being played all over the five boroughs. Voices Underground takes the story of two musicians from the subterranean world of New York to the big screen, bringing a message filled with music and the passion of those who dare to play to the world's toughest audience: subway riders. Theo moved to NY from Vienna, Austria, seven years ago. With no money in his pockets and the only possession of a beat-up old guitar, one day he saw an old musician singing a cappella in the subway. Inspired by him, day by day Theo perfections his musical technique and starts to write and sing his own music and lyrics. He then meets Mark Nicosia, a talented drummer from Pennsylvania. Their lives cross each others, for two years they play together and become good friends. It's the two of them against the world... original cut 20 min. directed by Chantal Ughi
