Tycho's Supernova, zooming on area of
Duration: 0:26Source: YouTube
This zoom begins with a two degree field of sky in the constellation Cassiopeia photographed with Digitized Sky Survey 2. This is where Tycho Brahe in 1572 saw his famous supernova. The zoom continues with an image made by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory showing the supernova remnant and finishes with an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope's Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 of the small section of sky containing the suspected runaway companion star to the titanic supernova explosion.Credit: NASA, ESA, CXO, Digitized Survey 2 and P.
