Atheist Rationale Response to the Islamic State (Caliphate)
Duration: 4:23Source: YouTube
At 00:53 seconds mujtahid2006 says, "Whether these things exist, that is the supernatural, is not for the discussion of political theory or political systems; the Khilafah is a state, therefore it is not in the remit of the state to be a theological institution." I believe a legitimate state requires legitimate philosophy, so the philosophy of the state is for the discussion of political theory and political systems. This video attempts to prove the intellectual supremacy of Democratic secularism to the Khilafah. In this speech I use the following words: Islamic ontological philosophy meaning the Islamic framework of reasoning and thinking i.e. the aqeedah, and the Islamic moral philosophy means the Shariah Moral philosophy and ontological philosophy are the foundation of a political state. The moral philosophy of a state governs individual and social rights while the ontological philosophy sets the methodology used to interpret and understand human existence. The primary difference between the Khilafah and the Democratic Secular Republic is that the Khilafah's primary source of ontological philosophy is the Quran and the recorded sayings, while the primary source of the ontological philosophy of the Democratic Secular Republic is the scientific methodology of observable and testable evidence. The primary difference between the moral philosophy of the Khilafah and the Democratic Secular Republic is that the Khilafah's primary source of moral philosophy is the Quran and the recorded sayings while the primary source of moral philosophy for the Democratic Secular Republic is the ideal of the social contract, an equally applied civil and criminal justice system, an equitable economy, the end of nepotism, equal access to education, equitable access to jobs, freedom of speech and association, equal ability to contribute to the ontological philosophy or educational curriculum of the state to the extent the ideas are observation based ideas, equal ability to contribute to the moral philosophy or legal policy of the state to the extent the moral philosophy upholds the above values, and equal access to the electoral process to the extent the election process upholds the above values. I believe the Democratic Secular Republic is intellectually and morally superior to the Khilafah, because the Democratic Secular Republic gets its ontological philosophy from a methodology that only uses ideas that can be tested and observed while the Khilafah gets the majority of its ontological philosophy from a book, the Quran, and recorded sayings that were written over fourteen hundred years ago and contains ideas of existence, such as Heaven and Hell, that cannot be verified with observable evidence. If Muslims who support a Khilafah cannot prove the existence of such basic Islamic ideas such as Heaven and Hell then I believe an honest and fair judgment shows that the Islamic ontological philosophy is not intellectually superior to the democratic secular ontological methodology that uses observable and testable evidence alone to interpret the universe. I believe it is also fair to say that if the Islamic ontological philosophy cannot give observable evidence for its philosophy then the Islamic moral philosophy, which is subsequently a derivative of the Islamic ontological philosophy, has not proven its social legitimacy through intellectually supreme means. Like I said at the beginning of this speech, both moral and ontological philosophy are the foundation of a political state, so both must be proven supreme in order for the state to gain legitimacy. If the Khilafah wants to prove its moral and intellectual supremacy then it must intellectually prove its supremacy over the moral philosophy and ontological philosophy of the ideal Secular Democratic Republic that I mentioned in this speech. If you believe that the Islamic faith is intellectually superior to using the scientific methodology alone and the egalitarian social principles I listed above, then please prove with physical and testable evidence, not faith, on why the Islamic faith is intellectually supreme and thus the best foundation to build a government. If the supporters of the Khilafah cannot prove its legitimacy through intellectually supreme means then supporters of the Khilafah must admit that it is not intellectually supreme, but only wishful thinking that requires faith If there is anything supreme about the Islamic state to the Secular Republic it is that the religion and the belief in a God gives a sense of eternal meaning which reduces loneliness and the existential crisis. Although emotions do not confirm reality and the happiness that comes with a religion does not make the religion a true interpretation of existence or the best cure for every political problem.
