David Cooper hits an opposite field home run during a 14-4 win versus the Fresno St. Bulldogs in the University of San Diego Tournament on February 28. The 2007 All-Pac-10 selection batted .382/.450/.627 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs for California last year. The 6-foot-1, 185 pound first baseman began his college career at Cal State Fullerton after playing his high school ball at Tokay High School in Lodi, California. He played for the Brewster Whitecaps for two straight summers in the Cape Cod League. The junior is on both the Golden Spikes and Wallace Award watch lists.
