Hulk Hogan visits Paul Bearer's "Funeral Parlor".
Duration: 6:18Source: MySpace
An interview segment leading up to Survivor Series 1991 in which Hulk Hogan would defend the WWF Championship against The Undertaker. 'Taker had only been in the company for about a year at this point and it's a testament to his skill that he was already not only being featured in a main-event program with the champ, but would also manage to take the title from Hogan (albeit for a short time). He also found himself working in this segment with some of the all-time greats: Hulk Hogan, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In fact this is one of Ric Flair's first WWF appearances. He was coming out with the WCW Championship belt and claiming to be the "real world champion" to play mind games with Hulk Hogan. For years diehard wrestling fans had argued who was better, WWF's Hogan or NWA/WCW's Flair. So after only one year the man formerly known as Mean Mark Callous in WCW (who was told by them that he would never draw or be a main-eventer) finds himself in the World Title mix and involved in the Hogan/Flair storyline to boot. To this day The Undertaker is the only wrestler to defeat Hulk Hogan for a world title on two separate occasions. He also defeated Hulk Hogan for the Undisputed World Heavyweight Title in 2002 at the Judgement Day pay-per-view. No other wrestling superstar can lay claim to that fact. Even though Undertaker was supposed to be the 'heel' (i.e. the bad guy) in this first matchup, many in the crowd were actually cheering for him to defeat Hogan. This was one of the first signs that the WWF audience was becoming less enamored with Hogan as the champion and yearned for others to hold the belt instead. At this point in his career Hogan rarely lost to anyone. Anytime he lost, it was a big deal, which makes it an even bigger statement in support of The Undertaker and his abilities, even early in his illustrious WWF/WWE career. If you've seen it before, sit back and reminisce. If you never have, watch and enjoy.
