Education - Daytona Beach FL Education Daytona Beach’s Volusia County School District contains more than 50,000 students in its elementary, middle and secondary schools. District students score better than the state average on the benchmark Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test in both the reading and mathematics categories. Volusia continues to rank among the top ten of Florida’s 67 school districts for lowest dropout rate as well. Some 82 percent of district graduates plan to enter college or university.
