Which presidential candidate wants to end the "war on drugs"? Which one wants to immediately release all non-violent drug "offenders"? This would probably include tens of thousands of young black men, and many thousands more in the future who would be saved from governmental harassment and imprisonment. Not to mention putting an end to the drug gang carnage that has been created by drug prohibition. First, a few intriguing questions. Of all the candidates, who has broken the all-time record for raising the most campaign money in a 24-hour period? Who is the only medical doctor running for president? Who raised more money than any other GOP candidate in the fourth quarter? Who is a devout Christian but adheres to the Biblical admonition to "pray in secret," taking extreme care not to use faith for political gain? Who is the only GOP candidate who has stood by his principles throughout his political career, even when he voted alone to maintain his adherence to the principles of our Constitution? Who has received more support from our military families than any other candidate, including John McCain? Who has won 55 percent of all straw polls, and been a Top 3 finisher in 85 percent of straw polls? Who is the only presidential candidate chosen as a GQ Magazine "Man of the Year" for 2007? And when titled "Person of the Year" by John McLaughlin of the McLaughlin Group, who was described in this manner: "....(he) injected the presidential campaign with a dose of truth serum. His straight talk on Iraq, and his straight talk on the Constitution, as Buchanan pointed out, and the limits of government have made him an Internet phemonema. In fact, he has become an independent force in the nation's life"? The answer is: Dr. Ron Paul. Here is my response to nay-sayers. If you say, "I like him, but I don't think he can win," what ever happened to voting according to principle, just as Ron Paul has done over and over for years and years? Do we make our own choices according to popular opinion, or do we make a stand for what we believe is truth? If you think he's with the wrong party, why not suspend party politics for a few minutes, listen without prejudice, and finally decide for yourself if Ron Paul speaks truth? An important point to mention is that Ron Paul is mocked among some in his own party, while he continues to gain a strong following among Democrats and independents. Ron Paul endorsers are an impressive group, including chairmen of the Department of Economics at several prestigous universities, respected business pioneers such as Peter Thiel, co-founder and former CEO of PayPal, and hundreds of veterans. NAACP President, Nelson Linder (a black man), who has known Ron Paul for 20 years "unequivocally dismissed charges that the Congressman was a racist in light of recent smear attempts, and said the reason for him being attacked was that he was a threat to the establishment." "Dr. Paul has . . . praised Martin Luther King as his hero on many occasions spanning back 20 years," the NAACP president said. www.ronpaul2008.com This January 21st donate your conscience to Ron Paul.
