 Source: ClipSyndicate
A judge has ordered the second murder trial for Moe Gibbs to be held in Grand Forks. Southeast District Judge John Paulson ordered the trial to begin on October 30th, with jury selection to begin on October 22nd. The trial portion is expected to last through November 9th, plus jury deliberations. Gibbs is accused of killing 22-year-old Valley City State University student Mindy Morgenstern in her off-campus apartment last September. The 12 jurors in the first trial in Minot were split evenly on whether he was guilty and Paulson dismissed them July 12th after four days of deliberations. Gibbs is slated to face trial on September 17th for six felony charges he faces amid accusations that he sexually assaulted five female inmates while working as a Barnes County jailer. He also faces a trial for the 2004 rape of a Fargo woman. A date for that trial has not been set.
