USA: Celebrity beauty treatments in preparati...
Duration: 4:31Source: ITN Source
As celebrities vie to be prettier, thinner and more fabulous in preparation for the Academy Awards, they are pulling out all the stops, having full beauty makeovers delivered to their homes and even laser facials. Remedies for restoring youth and beauty, or maximizing it, have become all the rage in the countdown to Sunday's (March 5) Oscars, Hollywood's biggest event. At the Revlon Oscar suite, celebrity make up artist Kristofer Buckle who has worked with leading Hollywood actresses including Oscar winners Jennifer Connelly and Renee Zellweger said that there will not be one particular trend on the red carpet because at the Oscars anything goes. "Well on the red carpet of the Oscars you are going to see the gamut. You are going to see looks that range from very natural and transparent to more dramatic. You will always have classic red lip and you will always have your smoky eye but with Revlon the line is so diverse they have everything you need for whatever look you go for," Buckle told Reuters. To help celebrities get look their best Oscar look renowned makeup artists will provide guests with tips and techniques to create a stunning day or evening look. "Kristofer Buckle our make up artists has been sharing some of his tips and tricks and one of them is layering color. So you start with a great shade of lipstick for your lips then you match or give a bit of kick with some gloss. Just in time for the Oscars we have created a special shade called 'sparkling champagne'. We think with the festivities and the excitement of the Oscars it's just a fun little flourish to have a little sparking champagne on your lips as you walk the red carpet," said Ellen Maguire, vice president of public relations for Revlon. At the invitation-only 2006 Estee Lauder luxury beauty spa experience celebrities receive complimentary facials, manicure and pedicures and spa treatments that can be brought right to their homes to prepare for Oscar week. "Well it's complete chaos it's Oscar week here and of course Estee Lauder this is our fifth year we have the Estee Lauder luxury beauty spa. We want to cater to the nominees every year we want to feel their best and be pampered head to toe. This year we have a new twist on it we have the mobile spa. We are actually going to the nominees to their hotels or to their homes we want to take care of the and indulge them," said supermodel Carolyn Murphy an Estee Lauder spokesmodel. Several Beverly Hills hotels have been taken over by those prepared to dress, adorn and rectify the slightest flaws of the rich and famous. If ever there was a time for a little bit of plastic surgery or a Botox injection, it's now. And if ever there was a time to visit luxury hotel suites filled with fashion advisors, beauticians this week is it. For the truly adventurous, plastic surgeon Dr. Jay Calvert at the Estee Lauder suite performs laser facial and applies "Perfectionist Patches" on the eyes that helps the skin glow so that the stars can be camera ready. "Well this is the 'Perfectionist Patch' and it is a very unique treatment because it has in it, in the middle portion here, a very small battery that provides the charge that allows the product to penetrate the skin more effectively. This is very interesting to me because to have immediately that treat deep lines and wrinkles around eyes is new for now I have to do a eyelid tuck or some kind of fat injection or something very invasive to really make a difference for people. With this they can do something at home that is effective and will just get to look better," said Dr. Calvert. Nothing can mess up a good dress, skin and diamonds like bad hair so celebrity stylist Fredrick Fekkai is busy in his Beverly Hills salon doing color and last minute touch ups before the big night. "We love to celebrate what I call the pre- red carpet event the whole week has been great to pamper the actresses and actors and agents everybody is involved in Hollywood and is here this week to celebrate Hollywood glamour," said Fekkai while styling supermodel Karolina Kurkova's blonde locks.
