Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama denounces controversial remarks made by the pastor of his Chicago church. The rev. Jeremiah Wright is known for his inflammatory rhetoric including saying the United States brought on the 9/11 attack with its own "terrorism'. Presidential hopeful, Barack Obama, released a statement on Friday (March 14) expressing his anger and disappointment over the inflammatory comments made by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Wright has been Obama's pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church and has a long history of controversial comments. In a DVD sold through his Chicago church, Wirght accuses the leaders of the United States for committing 'terrorist' acts across the world, saying those acts incited the September 11th attacks on the U.S. "We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye," Wright said in a sermon on September 16 2001. In a statement on Friday on the news website, the Huffington Post, Obama said: "I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies."
