Take control on a Par 3 with Joe's pointers. Golf Tips Episode “Using a mid-iron off the tee” Joe Beck: Joe here, I am going to show you how to hit a mid-iron on a par three. The first thing you need to know is that you never try to help the ball up in the air. What we are looking for is for you to hit down on the ball, so the club the way the manufacturer made it will help you launch the ball. The other key to it is being able to tee it up correctly. We are going to tee it up to about a quarter of an inch off the ground. We are going to make a nice full swing and try to take a nice little dollar bill size divot. Let me show you how to do it. That’s what I am talking about. 1. Hit down on ball 2. Tee ball ¼ inch from ground 3. Full swing 4. Make dollar sized divot
