A special mountain lion season has ended on the Fort Berthold reservation with no cougars being killed. The Three Affiliated Tribes Game and Fish Department director, Fred Poitra, says mountain lion sightings are still reported. That was one reason for opening a temporary mountain lion season on the reservation in early June. It covered the New Town, Four Bears, Shell Creek and Mandaree areas. The tribe also brought in a professional mountain lion hunter, but he found no mountain lions.
