A severe outbreak of weather across the north dropped large amounts of rain and hail in many areas that ranged from pea to Golf ball size. The storms started brewing early this afternoon. Shaun Sipma caught up with one system just east of Ruthville shortly after it started moving south. Ominous clouds were just the warning as severe weather worked its way through the region this afternoon into tonight. Southeast of Minot Air Force Base golf ball size hail pelted the country side, luckily it was not accompanied by high wind so damage wasn't an issue. But this storm was just gaining strength. As it worked south it reloaded with hail and roared right through Sheri Sloboden's yard. (Sheri Slaboden) The torrential rain turned roads into temporary rivers and the hail turned the countryside white....... (Sheri Slaboden) Near Velva rain was the only affect felt from mother nature and farmers weren't at all disappointed to see another burst of rain in their fields. (Mike Bechtold, Farms near Velva) Damage reports are few and far between and it appears that most areas weathered today's storm with just a few frayed nerves and a good doze of rain.
