Our Father Lord's Prayer Chant Strephon
 Source: blip.tv
As a youth singing the Lords Prayer was always special to me though much else of the Christian church service was not.Today at the other end of my life I feel I have achieve much in my life and sing now the Our Father as a dream chant, which is a more spontaneous and passionate version than church goers allow themselves to sing. The Our Father prayer is really about human's relation to the Source called Father by Jesus. This was original with Jesus to personalize the relationship with The Greater as Father, like the personal father. This represents Jesus' conceptual breakthrough in making the relationship to God individual and not collective. For the other Jews of Jesus' day they thought of themselves as the collective children of The Most High. You were not even to name the Greater God. Jesus taught parables about the servants and the master to illustrate our personal relation to Diety if we choose for it. Note how Jesus never defines God and early Christians define Jesus as God.Jesus clearly rejected the title of Messiah, or why would there be the passages where Jesus does not answer or says, you say that I am?Jesus focuses on our relation then to That Which Is Greater. Religions define God. The historical Jesus taught to act on your relations to God. Here with my older voice I sing out passionately my relation to whatever source is for me. I don't go to church or sing this way in church. Everything is too rigid there in most churches to allow full freedom of the spirit and to worship in ones own way.You are invited to sing out any of these church songs in your own way so as to feel the spirit of worship yourself.Know what you are doing and do what you know.
