Amy Winehouse and Kanye West scoop the plaudits at the 50th annual Grammy Awards. MOREINFO: In a show with few surprises jazz veteran Herbie Hancock prevented a clean sweep by Winehouse as he unexpectedly walked away with the coveted Best Album of the Year honour for the all-star Joni Mitchell tribute 'River: The Joni Letters'. SCRIPT: The 50th Annual Grammy Awards gave British performer Amy Winehouse an armful of honours. Appearing on video link from London she scooped awards including Best Record, Best Gong and Best New Artist. It's a boost for Winehouse who's fighting a highly publicised battle with her addictions and other personal problems. SOUNDBITE: Amy Winehouse saying (English): "To my mum and dad. For my Blake, my Blake incarcerated. And for London, this is for London, 'cause Camden Town is burning down." Kanye West had a good night - he scooped four awards. SOUNDBITE: Kanye West saying (English): "It defintely feels good to be home here at the Grammys. You know, we snuck in about four years ago, four or five years ago. And now we basically made this our new place of residence." Among the few surprises of this year's Grammys - Winehouse was stopped from taking a clean sweep by jazz veteran Herbie Hancock.
