Tiger Woods claim his fith Green Jacket
Duration: 2:02Source: YouTube
Arguably the greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods is the overwhelming favorite to claim his fifth Green Jacket at the Masters this week. Woods practiced alone on the back nine of Augusta National yesterday in preparation for his assault on golf's grand slam. This means taking out all four major championships in the calendar year. And Woods feels confident he can do it. [Tiger Woods, World No.1]: "You have to understand why I said that, because I've done it before." Woods triumphed in four consecutive majors from the 2000 U.S. Open to the 2001 Masters. He is the only player to achieve the feat. [Tiger Woods, World No.1]: "This is my 12th season out here and (in) nine of those years I've won five or more tournaments so I've just got to win the right four, That's what it boils down to." He will launch his bid for a 14th major title in Thursday's opening round at one of his favorite venues. [Tiger Woods, World No.1]: "You always want to win major championships, and this is a special one. I've had some nice memories here." The 32-year-old has been virtually unstoppable this season, winning his first four tournaments before finishing fifth at last month's WGC Championship in Miami. Tour dominance notwithstanding, Master's defending champion Zach Johnson says Woods presence is the best thing for the game. [Zach Johnson, Defending Champion]: "He makes me want to get better. He says he can get better, which is absolutely scary. I mean I know I can. I mean it's encouraging, you know, it makes you want to work harder. He's a freak, in a good way." In tomorrow's opening round, Woods is paired with U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera of Argentina and Australia's Stuart Appleby.
