16 Year-Old driver runs over poles crashing the car during police chase
 Source: LiveLeak
A 16-year-old driver who led police on a crashing, high-speed police chase in Frenchtown was charged with eluding police and driving without a license on Tuesday. Frenchtown police said they responded to a disturbance report at the Frenchtown mall, and when they arrived, they found a car recklessly exiting the parking lot. The vehicle fled southbound on North Monroe Street when the officer tried to stop the car. A Michigan State Police officer joined the pursuit and chased the vehicle for miles before the driver ran over some poles and came to a crashing halt, said police. The driver and two of the passengers fled the vehicle on foot and were later arrested, according to police. An 18-year-old female passenger did not flee from the police. She was brought in for questioning and later released. One of the passengers had a felony warrant out for his arrest. The two passengers who fled were lodged at the Monroe County Jail for resisting arrest and obstructing justice, said police. Police said they found small amounts of marijuana in the car and the 16-year-old driver did not have a license. According to police, the car was loaned to one of the passengers, who then allowed the unlicensed teen to drive. A $50,000 bond was set for the teen driver.
