Comair to cut flight crew jobs
Hello... Welcome to Employment Crossing News... I'm Evangeline Fabia. Comair Inc. plans to cut flight crew jobs. The initial estimate is 300 pilot positions and 220 flight attendant positions. Currently, Comair has 1,477 pilots and 940 flight attendants. The announcement came on Tuesday during a press conference in which Comair announced that the cutbacks are part of parent Delta Air Lines Inc's overall cost of reductions in response to higher fuel costs. The airline has already trimmed down their non-crew staff since the beginning of the year. Comair President John Selvaggio says that they will do everything possible to provide voluntary choices for those affected. Comair says that it plans to make $35 million dollars in cuts this year.
