Jacque is a self-described nerd who has dreamed of her Sweet 16 forever. She sees it as the one night where she can be the princess and center of attention. The only problem is her party-hardy mother may just ruin all of Jacque's well-laid plans. Mom just wants Jacque to loosen up and have fun, while Jacque wants her mom to just be a mom. Jacque wants an elegant Venetian Carnivale theme where people wear masks and dress formally, but when her mom hears masks, she thinks Mardi Gras and insists on lots of beads.
