European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet speaks at a news conference in Basel, Switzerland, about the performance of global economies, the credit crisis and the outlook for inflation. Trichet, who chaired a meeting of central bankers from the Group of 10 industrialized nations today, said the world economy continues to grow and inflation risks are significant.
