Impeachment event Update IMPORTANT
Duration: 2:23Source: YouTube
Action Plan: 2pm December 5th Participants meet at "Capital South" metro station. Once assembled (by 2:30) we will move to the Rayburn Building and go to the office of John Conyers and the Judiciary Committee and present a statement outlining our request for a hearing. 3pm-3:15 we will move as a group to the grassy area in front of the Capital Building and set up camp, preparing for the long haul. After establishing our encampment we will stay as long as necessary/possible in order to express our commitment to seeing this through. We ask that participants be prepared to camp in cold weather. It won't be necessary for all participants to stay at the camp at all times but it is important for a sizable group to maintain a presence at the encampment in order to properly express the strength of the movement and the extent of our commitment. People who cannot participate until later in the day or week are encouraged to join us when they can. Additionally those with children or special physical needs that may make it difficult to camp over night are welcome to join us for what ever period of time they are comfortable with. If people want to join us during the days and leave to sleep elsewhere we welcome your participation as well. press release On December 5th a small group of Americans will take up a vigil in front of the U.S. House of Representatives in order to express their desire to see Resolution 333/733 have a hearing. This is an effort begun by a few citizens who represent no particular group. We ask that any person who wishes to see a public investigation into the crimes of Vice President Dick Cheney join us in person or in spirit. Those who can come to Washington D.C. and keep the vigil with us, please do so. Others can hold solidarity actions in their home towns as well as contacting Representatives who sit on the Judiciary Committee. Recent polls have returned staggering numbers of Americans who wish to see Cheney impeached. The crimes are too numerous to list here but they include torture, war profiteering, treason, subverting official investigations and illegal war. His actions have corrupted our national consciousness in every area of life. He has lead the plunder of our youth, our treasure and our reputation for the enrichment of a small group of investors. In order to achieve these ends he has manipulated intelligence, terrorized the American people and flatly lied in inquiries. What we are asking for is a hearing on this matter--an official, public investigation into the allegations against our Vice President. If he is innocent of these assertions he will surely be exonerated by such an investigation. If guilty then he can be dealt with by the mechanism known as impeachment. Our request has nothing to do with party affiliation or retribution. We seek to return some standard of honesty and decency to our government in order to preserve those characteristics of our country that have been cherished since our founding. This vigil will continue as long as possible as determined by the number of additional participants who arrive and the response of law enforcement. We in no way wish to disturb the peace and we ask that our freedom to assemble and freedom to redress the government for grievances, as granted in the Bill of Rights, be respected.
