After one of the most expensive court cases in history, Steve Ballmer, the Chief Executive of Microsoft, has agreed to comply with an EU ruling that they abused their dominant market position. Microsoft, which has been fined over half a billion pounds by the commision, last month lost an appeal in the European Courts. The software giant will now make some of the software "open source", allowing competitors to design software to work with them. Following a crucial dinner between the EU competition commissioner and Microsoft head Ballmer, it seems both sides have changed their tune.
