They flapped their arms and legs in the snow ten months ago now they get their reward for setting the world record... February 17th 2007 North Dakotan's help set a new world record for snow angels. Today those snow angel volunteers and their record are being celebrated. In fact, Governor Hoeven proclaims today Snow Angel Day. After all, it's not every year you make it into the Guinness Book of World Records... Donnell Preskey has the story... North Dakota set the first snow angel record in 2002 with 1,791 snow angels. Then in 2006 Michigan snatched it with 3,784 snow angels. But North Dakotan's are known for being resilient. People came from 142 North Dakota towns, 17 states, six canadian Providence's, five countries and five continents. If you were a snow angel but couldn't get to the capitol today to get your certificate you can pick it up at the heritage center. They're also taking non-perishable items as donations during the two day entertainment event.
