UPSOUND Fashion fans who want a new designer wardrobe without paying a cent should be prepared to fight for it. Berliners tussled to get their hands on designer clothing at the ultimate second-hand swap shop. Over a couple of weeks, these shoppers brought one and a half thousand items of old clothing to the shop, allowing them to collect "points" on a swap card. On Thursday, they were back - lining up to exchange their points for some hip new items. This customer queued for three hours to get her hands on the most sought-after piece - German actress Franka Potentes red leather jacket. But the battle for the chicest clothes soon got heated: SOUNDBITE: Marlies, Swap shop customer, saying (German): "Another customer snatched the scarf off me, but Im not a fighter by nature so she can have it, it doesnt matter, I can buy another." The swap shop schemes part of a credit card promotion. But this way shoppers can treat themselves to a guilt-free new wardrobe - and any clothes that dont find a new owner will be donated to Oxfam Deutschland. Joanna Partridge, Reuters
