A shrub native to tropical climates is causing anger among Indian farmers. British companies have been growing Jatropha, which has grown wild in tropical climates for hundreds of years, because its seeds contain oil which can be converted into biodiesel. One British agribusiness is investing millions in Jatropha as an alternative energy source but is facing allegations that it has breached India's biodiversity laws.
