In American college football, The Play refers to a controversial last-second kickoff return during a November 20, 1982 game between the University of California, Berkeley ("California" or "Cal") Golden Bears and the Stanford University Cardinal.The Golden Bears used five lateral passes on the return with no time left to score the winning touchdown and defeat the Cardinal, 25-20.Hihghly controversial.
