Christian Bale questioned about assault charges, Denise Richards in court and a "Golden Girls" co-star dies. Lindsay Claiborn reports. STORY: Christian Bale, star of the latest Batman blockbuster, has been released on bail by British police after being questioned on allegations of assault. According to British media, Bale is alleged to have lashed out at his mother and sister in his suite at a London hotel on Sunday (July 20), the night before London's "Dark Knight" premiere. The actor, who denies the allegation, has been released until September pending further inquiries. "Golden Girls" actress Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84. Her son reported that the Emmy award winning actress died early Tuesday (July 22) at her home in Los Angeles and that she had suffered from advanced dementia. The diminutive actress spent 40 years struggling for success before landing the role of a lifetime in 1985, playing the sarcastic octogenarian Sophia on "The Golden Girls." Denise Richards went to court Monday (July 21) seeking changes to a custody arrangement with ex-husband Charlie Sheen - but didn't get everything she wanted. The couple completed a bitter divorce in 2006, and have since waged a contentious battle over the custody and care of their daughters, 4-year-old Sam and 3-year-old Lola. Sarah Jessica Parker's art-competition reality show has found a home at Bravo. The network has picked up "American Artist," a "Project Runway"-style series that takes on the art world. Aspiring artists compete to produce various styles of artwork including painting and sculpting, which is then judged by a panel of experts. And a late night shuffle is in the works for NBC. The network announced Jay Leno's last night hosting "The Tonight Show" will be May 29, 2009, with Conan O'Brien taking the reins of the long-running program on June 1. Saturday Night Live veteran Jimmy Fallon is poised to fill O'Brien's shoes on "Late Night" in March or April of 2009.
