In spite of Limbaugh s mumbled response the answer has to be Pretty damn good thanks given his continued behaviour Proof of his windbaggery lies in his ongoing diatribe against frontrunning Republican candidate John McCain Not content with spouting old fashioned sexist dreck about Hillary Clinton Limbaugh continues to excoriate McCain It seems there s a whole bunch of stuff Limbaugh hates about McCain including the refreshing fact that the man wants election reform and has a record of contradicting George W Bush when he feels the U S president is wrong Given W s performance over the last several years it s merely surprising that McCain does not have permanent laryngitis LIMBAUGH S ACCUSATION LAUGHABLE Limbaugh s accusation that McCain is a liberal is laughable Let s see here McCain promises to downsize the federal government and upsize the military e s pro life he believes it is every citizen s right to own armaments with the possible exception of tanks He s prepared to stay in Iraq forever not to mention he s eager to mount up and chase Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell And even after Mitt Romney bowed out yesterday the Look at me being conservative schtick was still in full force as McCain spoke to the Conservative Political Action Conference In that speech the Republican frontrunner pledged to make the Bush tax cuts permanent and to provide a free market solution to the fact that millions of Americans have no health care But silliest of all is Limbaugh s accusation echoed by Ann Coulter another obnoxious commentator that McCain is an unfit candidate because he promises to consort with the enemy No not al Qaida not the Taliban The Democrats After his excellent showing on Super Tuesday McCain did indeed reiterate that he is willing to hold out a hand to the Democrats make an attempt to work with them and get on with running a cou try having huge economic problems This then is the biggest sin that McCain has committed He does not want to continue the recriminations petty name calling and obstructionist policies of the past seven years At the same time he makes it clear that he will not compromise his own strong beliefs Obviously the man ought to be flogged and then shot Otherwise there s a possibility should McCain win the nomination and then win the presidency stuff might get done in Washington that is for the good of the country And it is interesting to note that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have expressed a similar attitude WINDBAGGERY It should be obvious that many people in the United States and here in Canada are weary of gotcha politics that promote windbaggery and accomplish nothing A prime example of obstructionist politics occurred one day after Super Tuesday Senate Republicans blocked a bid by Democrats to add $ billion in help for disabled veterans the elderly and the unemployed to President ush s economic aid package Perhaps after November there will be a bit of room for discussion and compromise For the good of the country does not seem to be a phrase that Limbaugh understands Instead so ideologically cramped is this windbag that he d rather abstain from voting or vote for Hillary Clinton should McCain get the nom Worse Limbaugh thinks he has enough clout to convince others to abstain How intelligent; how democratic And McCain s response? I don t listen to him There s a certain trace of masochism in my family but not that deep Happily though while Limbaugh Coulter and others like them rail against the evil liberal maverick McCain droves of Republican voters in other words the people have made him the solid frontrunner in the Republican nomination race
