From the Reuters Studio in Times Square, I'm Chad Ruble. Remember that cute polar bear who won over the hearts and minds of the world? Well, he celebrated his first birthday. What is that six in polar bear years? It was images like these that spawned a cottage industry and made 2007 the year of Knut. Check him out. What a difference a year makes! I don't think he'll be climbing on his keeper anymore. Looks a little bloated and jowly, if you ask me. But, like Elvis in his later years, he still pulls in the crowds. Knut, all the hamming it up in the world won't roll back the clock... Is this the beginning of the inevitable downward spiral of an aging media star? Knut may have lost it, but I know one little guy who's still got it. Meet this week's cutest cub. History was made this week when this little guy entered the world. He is a rare South China tiger cub, and is believed to be the first of his kind ever born outside Chinese borders. The healthy bouncing baby boy came in at just 1.2 kilograms. But I'll think you'll agree, he's a good ten tons of adorable. And finally on "And Finally..." you could call this South Korean timepiece "State-of-the-Art." That is, if you lived in the year 1434. OK, I see what's going on here... The water flows through... Yes... And it makes the thing go into the thing... Right... Oh, I know! This is that elaborate mouse trap board game, right? Nope! This enormous contraption is not a Rube Goldberg machine. This is a spectacular device that actually tells time. And it was invented over five-hundred years ago. By regulating the water flow, every twenty minutes, it strikes a loud gong. Every 100 minutes, it hits a drum. And every two hours, it rings a bell. These little dudes here indicate the time of day. Hello! OK, but when's the wristwatch version coming out? Come on, you've had five-hundred years to develop it! Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta run. I have a dentist appointment in one drum beat and two gongs.
