Can you put a finger on why you love North Dakota? The Commerce department asked North Dakotans, back in August why they Love North Dakota, and today they recognized the winners of the contest. Dessie Baxter, lived in California her whole life, but was recently offered a job move to Bismarck. She says after five months in North Dakota, it was the best move she's made, and her family loves it here. (Dessie Baxter/ Contest Winner) I JUST KNEW THAT I COULD OFFER THEM SOMETHING BETTER I WANTED THEM TO GROW UP WITH OLD VALUES AND JUST BE ABLE TO BE KIDS AND NOT GROW UP TOO FAST AND JUST SOMEPLACE WHERE FAMILY VALUES WERE STILL VALUED Dessie's also recruited her parents and brother to move her this spring. Another winner, Justin Data, says he moved from New York city with his wife and two children. He says the City that never sleeps couldn't offer him the one thing he wanted most....family time.
