Arts & Culture Bradenton FL - Bradenton is alive with a vibrant arts community that inspires with its eclectic offering of studios, galleries, and shops. While great art can be found throughout the community from the music playing in the bars at night to the museums and cultural attractions, the center of the artistic community is the Village of the Arts in Downtown Bradenton. Quite unlike anywhere else in the area the Village of the Arts is the wonderful section of Downtown Bradenton where you will find more than 35 art galleries, including several small restaurants and other small businesses, situated throughout a community of approximately 250 homes. The Village of the Arts has rapidly become the largest arts colony on the Gulf Coast, helping Bradenton gain recognition from Art Calendar Magazine as one of the Top 10 Best Places to Live for Working Artists. Bradenton is also home to the South Florida Museum, featuring a planetarium and aquarium, Art Center Manatee, a free gallery featuring work by local artists, the Manatee Players Theater, and wonderful cultural events like the Florida Heritage Festival, commemorating the landing of Hernando De Soto in the area in 1539.
