A photo call for the cast of the film version of "Mein Kampf". The new movie takes its name from Adolf Hitler's partly-autobiographical book, which means "my struggle". But the movie's director says the film is actually based on a play by the late Hungarian and Jewish playwright George Tabori: SOUNDBITE: Urs Odermatt, Director, saying (German): "It describes how the young Adolf Hitler tried and failed to get into the Viennese art academy when he was in his early twenties. He was frustrated and tried to kill himself but was rescued from the Danube by a Jewish good samaritan." Like the play, the film will be ironic, rather than an historically-accurate account of Hitler's early years. The young Adolf is played by up-and-coming German actor Tom Schilling. Filming began in Austria, where the real Hitler spent time. Now the production's moved to Germany - where it's still illegal to distribute Hitler's book, except in special circumstances. But the choice of title for the film is meant as a subversive joke - which could encourage audiences to face up to painful moments in history. Joanna Partridge, Reuters
