RULES for PUBLIC VOTING: * Text Comments MUST say VOTE in them. * Must see your face CLEARLY in VIDEO RESPONSE VOTES. * ANY "rating" will earn finalist a vote. * MYSTERY JUDGES are ALLOWED to VIDEO RESPONSE VOTE. * OFFICIAL JUDGES ARE NOT allowed to VIDEO RESPONSE VOTE. * MYSTERY JUDGES ARE ALLOWED to TEXT VOTE. * OFFICIAL JUDGES ARE NOT ALLOWED to TEXT VOTE from the account they are judging from. * A NEW VIDEO RESPONSE VOTE MUST be made for each week a finalist makes it to the next round. * Finalists MAY NOT vote for themselves from the account they entered the competition with. 1 VIDEO RESPONSE VOTE = 40 Votes 1 TEXT COMMENT VOTE = 20 Votes 1 RATING/STARS (ANY RATING) = 1 VOTE Here is the math for this weeks PUBLIC VOTING: 1st place = 56 points 2nd place = 48 points 3rd place = 40 points 4th place = 32 points 5th place = 24 points 6th place = 16 points 7th place = 8 points There are THREE elements to scoring points in YouTube Idol. 1. OFFICIAL JUDGES votes = 100 points 2. MYSTERY JUDGES votes = 50 points 3. PUBLIC VOTING - Amount will change every week in order to stay consistent with the number of finalists dropping. You DO NOT want to receive a VOTE from an OFFICIAL JUDGE. If they vote for you, it means they are voting to ELIMINATE you. Official judges are picked by Cree before the season begins. You DO NOT want to receive a VOTE from a MYSTERY JUDGE. If they vote for you, it means they are voting to ELIMINATE you. Mystery judges are picked by Cree each week. You DO want to be voted on by the PUBLIC. Be it VIDEO RESPONSE VOTES, TEXT VOTES, or RATINGS VOTES, they all earn you MORE points! If you make the TOP 10, you are REQUIRED to call IDOL RADIO SHOW each week to perform. Failing to call IRS will result in an automatic DQ. If you make the TOP 10, you are REQUIRED to at least have a representative call in to the elimination show. The ACTUAL FINALIST calling is ALWAYS preferred. There are NO AGE RESTRICTIONS on entering YouTube Idol. FIRST PLACE finalists are the ONLY contestants NOT allowed to enter a new season of YouTube Idol.
