My Proxxon MF70 CNC machining a NURBS made Tux using a modified version of EMC2. Nurbs are defined in the part-program using new G-codes G5.2 and G5.3, and are interpolated using biarcs tangents each other. This allows higher machining speeds than the conventional short segments interpolation. Also, the part-program is made by NURBS blocks so, for example, the program for Tux is 400 lines, using segments it would be thousands of lines. My Proxxon MF70 has a max speed of 100 mm/min and this is what is shown in the video. Of course higher machining speed can be achieved on a faster machine.
