When Don reminds Dick that his 'birthday' is May 5, Dick orders the other aliens to throw him a surprise party. Dick invites his class to the party and makes it clear that the gifts he receives could easily affect their grades. Dick also invites Mary and Nina, but Nina wants Dick to disappear so she can flirt with the guy who's come to fix the fax machine. Dick is approached by Charlotte who first claims to be a housewife auditing his class and then says she's actually a reporter from the Cleveland Plain Dealer working on a story on greatness. Dick is immediately sucked in, but Charlotte later confesses that she's really a kind of groupie who loves hanging around exceptional people; that's fine with Dick, and he invites her to his birthday party. The night of the party Charlotte comes by early with her son Ned and helps Sally with the food. The aliens are still thanking her for all her help as she quietly goes to Mrs. Dubcek's basement and begins calling the other guests to tell them the party's been cancelled. She asks Ned if everything's ready and Ned affirms that it is. They grab Mrs. Dubcek, tie her up and gag her, and, when Dick arrives, chloroforms him. When Dick wakes up, Charlotte informs him that she's about to cut his head open, because he's an alien. Charlotte has the other aliens tied up in the basement; she says she really wants to cut open the head of the person who has the transmitter.
