Une explosion au gaz dans le 6e arrondissement de Lyon a tué un pompier et blessé 35 personnes, jeudi 28 février. Après qu'un engin de chantier a heurté une canalisation, lors de travaux de surface, le gaz s'est répandu aux alentours. Un pompier de 35 ans, qui accompagnait les équipes de GDF, a été tué, enseveli dans une cave après l'explosion.
