In June 2009 at 11AM I pulled off the road in Yosemite Valley, California near the meadow just below 7600ft El Capitan and stalked two hungry but playful Black Bears for about an hour. In the end they ditched me by jumping into the cold merced river and swimming to the other side. These were black bears, not grizzlies and generally prefer eating berries and grubs rather than dining on tender good looking tourists. lol ... bears "black bears" yosemite wildlife "national park" bear ...
