(June 2)[Notes:exteriors of Duke] Senator Edward Kennedy underwent a long, and risky surgery Monday to remove some of his cancerous brain tumor. A doctor at Duke University Medical Center has said the surgery was successful, and doctors had accomplished their goals. Kennedy was awake during the procedure -- and afterward told his wife that he felt 'like a million bucks' - and said 'I think I'll do that again tomorrow.' [Notes:animation video of brain]The cancer was found about two weeks ago, in Kennedy's left parietal lobe Experts say the surgery was risky, since that region of the brain also deals with speech and movement. Kennedy will now undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The 76-year-old senator was hospitalized back on May 17th, after suffering a seizure at his home. ___ ___, The Associated Press.
